Who is Natty? What’s his real story? Where did he go? Why has someone stowed away on the Deliverance? What is the mysterious light in the graveyard? These are the questions that Jonathan Hamilton asked himself as he led the mules, Hezzy and Deut, along the towpath of the Erie Canal during the summer of 1842.
